COVID Cooling CARES Program – Please read through the entire content as our procedures have changed. Beginning July 1, 2020, those households that have NOT received heating or cooling assistance since November 1, 2019 are eligible for an appointment for the Cooling CARES Program at this time. If anyone in your household received heating or cooling assistance since November 1, 2019 please go online after August 3, 2020 to request an appointment, if funds are still available. If you go ahead and make an appointment any way and are not a “New Client”, even if the appointment date is after August 3, 2020, your application will be denied and you will have to go online again to schedule an appointment and take the risk that we might be out of funds. Please do NOT make duplicate appointments. After you have been given an appointment date and time, please be sure to click on the OK button to see what you will need in order to complete your application. Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union and White county households will be required to either mail in or drop off all required household documentation on or before their appointment date or time. Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Jackson, Madison, Oconee and Oglethorpe county households will be required to show up for their appointment to drop off or have copies made of all their required household documentation. Not only to protect our staff but our clients too please do NOT arrive early for your appointment if you are dropping off the day of and only 1 person is allowed to come in if copies are needed. No face to face applications will be done at any of our locations.
